Creator agreement

Last updated 2026-10-04

This agreement applies to everyone who publishes a game on Ludomint. It adds to the Terms of use.

You keep your rights

  • You keep every right you have in your game. This agreement is non-exclusive: you may publish and sell the same game anywhere else, at any time, on any terms.
  • You can remove your game from Ludomint whenever you want.

What you allow us to do

So that the site can work, you give us permission, free of charge and for as long as the game is on the site, to:

  • store your game's files and pictures and deliver them to players, in the browser and as downloads;
  • show the game's page, pictures, text and trailer on the site, in search and in link previews;
  • make technical copies and changes needed for that, such as resizing pictures and compressing files;
  • show the game in lists such as "new", "popular" and "featured".

When you delete a game it disappears from the site at once and its files are removed after 30 days.

What you promise

  • It is yours to publish. You made the game or have permission for everything in it: code, art, music, voices, text, names and characters. Material produced by an AI tool must be material that tool's terms allow you to publish.
  • The AI label is honest. For each part of the game you say truthfully whether AI was used. Players filter by this label, and a false label can lead to the game being hidden.
  • It follows the Content rules.
  • It is safe. No malware, no hidden mining, no attempts to reach beyond the game. If the game connects to outside services while running, you say so on the game's settings page and explain why.
  • Your contact details are real, so that we can reach you about a report or a complaint.

Checks and review

  • Every upload is scanned for malware and started automatically before it can be public. A build that fails is not published; you are told why.
  • Your first game is looked at by a person before it goes public. Later uploads go public when the automatic checks pass.
  • We may hide a game that is reported or that breaks the rules. You are told the reason and can appeal within 30 days.
  • Copyright complaints follow the process on the Copyright page. Three takedowns that stand end the right to publish.

Money

Publishing is free. Where selling is open, you may set a price for a game, and these terms apply to every sale:

  • Price. You choose it: a fixed price from $2, or pay what you want. You may run sales and give out coupons.
  • The payment fee. The payment provider keeps a fee from each payment (about 5% plus 50 cents). It comes out of the sale first.
  • The platform's share. On your first $1,000 of sales in each calendar year the platform takes nothing. After that it takes 10% of the price before tax. The pricing page shows what you keep at your price.
  • Tax. The payment provider adds and pays the buyer's sales tax or VAT. You are responsible for tax on what you earn.
  • Payouts. Your share of each sale is held for 14 days, then paid once a month when it has reached $20, to the payout details you give. You are told when a payout is sent.
  • Refunds and chargebacks. A sale that is refunded, or taken back by the buyer's bank, is taken off your balance. If you have already been paid, the amount is taken from later sales.
  • Games people have bought stay available to their buyers. You cannot delete such a game or your account yourself; contact support to retire a game.
  • Ads. You may switch on advertising for a free game: one advertisement below the game and, if your game asks for it, one more during a pause. You receive 70% of what the ads earn, shared among creators by how often the ad on each game is seen, and paid with your payouts. Ads are never personalised. A game you mark as made for children under 13 never shows ads. A game that is deleted or taken down when a month is shared earns nothing for that month, and the share of a suspended account stays with the platform. Views made to inflate a share do not count and may end your right to earn from ads.
  • Partner codes. A sale made through a content creator's code pays that person 5% of the price, out of the platform's share, not yours.

We will tell you before any of these terms change.

Statistics and feedback

We show you views, plays, downloads and where visitors came from, as daily totals. Beyond that you see only what players choose to do in your game: the display names and scores on your score tables, and the name, handle and note of people who ask to join your playtest. A game using the developer kit receives the player's display name and an id that works only in that game. You get no email addresses and no way to reach a player's account.

Founding creators

Creators who join by invitation during the private launch get direct help with their first uploads and a private channel for feedback. Things can change quickly in this period; we will tell you before anything that affects your published games.

Ending

Either side can end this agreement at any time: you by deleting your games or your account, we by closing an account that breaks the rules. Rights that players already have in copies they downloaded are not affected.
