Uploading a game

From a folder on your computer to a public page.

1. Create the game

Open My games, type a title and press Create game. This makes a private draft.

2. Upload a version

A version can contain a browser build, downloads, or both.

  • Browser build: choose the folder (or a .zip of it) that contains index.html. The game will run on its page.
  • Downloads: one file each for Windows, Mac and Linux: a .zip, an installer or an executable.

Write a line about what changed and press Upload version. Large files upload in pieces, and a piece that fails is tried again a few times.

3. Wait for the checks

Every version is scanned for malware and started in a real browser, on a desktop-sized and a phone-sized screen. This usually takes a few minutes and can take up to an hour. The page shows the result for each check. If a check fails you are told why; fix the build and upload again.

4. Fill in the store page

Under Store page add a cover picture, a one-sentence tagline, a genre, an age rating and the AI label. A game cannot be public without these.

5. Go public

Your first game is reviewed by a person, usually within a day. Later versions go public when the checks pass, if Publish as soon as the checks pass is ticked. You can always go back to an earlier version with Make live.

Limits

  • Each creator has 10 GB of storage in total. If you need more, ask under My games.
  • A browser build can have up to 2,000 files.
  • Only game files are accepted in a browser build: pages, scripts, styles, pictures, sound, video, fonts and data files.
