Reports, decisions and appeals
What happens after you report something, or after something of yours is reported.
Reporting
Use the Report link on a game, a review, a comment, a community post, a game jam or a profile. Choose the reason and add details if they help. You need an account, so that reports cannot be sent in bulk.
- A person reads every report.
- Reports of malware, illegal content or content involving minors are reviewed within 24 hours. If several people report a game for one of these, it is hidden automatically until it has been reviewed.
- You are told when your report has been reviewed. We do not share details about the other person.
If your content is reported
Nothing happens just because a report arrives. If we decide a rule was broken we may warn you, hide the content or suspend the account. You receive the reason in your notifications and by email.
Appealing
Each decision comes with a link to appeal within 30 days. Say what we got wrong. A person reviews it, and if the decision was a mistake it is undone: the game or comment returns, or the suspension ends. You can appeal even if your account is suspended, using the link in the email.
Copyright
If you own the rights to something used in a game, use the Copyright form. That starts a formal process with a takedown, a counter-notice and a waiting period.
