Game jams and events
Host a timed contest, enter a game, and vote.
A game jam is a contest with a deadline. People make a game in the time the host sets, enter it, and then everyone votes. All events are listed under Jams.
Hosting
Open Jams, then Host a jam. Give it a name, the rules, an optional theme, the first and last day for entries, and how many days of voting follow. Dates are whole days in UTC.
- Any account that is at least a week old can host a jam.
- The site runs the clock: entries open and close, voting opens and closes, and results appear by themselves.
- Festivals, showcases and the Official mark are for the platform team.
Entering
Open the event while it accepts entries and choose one of your public games. A jam takes only games created after it began. You can withdraw until entries close.
Voting
When entries close, signed-in players score each game from 1 to 5. A score can be changed until voting ends.
- You cannot score your own game.
- Voting opens to accounts that are at least a week old.
- Scores stay hidden until voting ends, so nobody follows the crowd.
Results
Games are ranked by their average score. A game with only a few votes is pulled toward the event's average, so one perfect score does not win. Every entrant gets a message with their place.
