Friends and private messages
Adding friends, talking to them, blocking and reporting.
Friends
- Add someone from their profile with Add friend, or on the Friends page by typing their handle (the name after the @).
- Nothing happens until they accept. They can also decline, and you are not told.
- You can take back a request, and remove a friend, at any time. The other person is not told.
Messages
- Only friends can message each other. Messages are text only; links are not clickable and nothing you type is treated as code.
- New messages appear by themselves while the conversation is open. The Friends link at the top shows how many are waiting.
- Our staff do not read private messages. If someone sends you something that breaks the rules, press Report next to that message. Staff then see that one message, and can remove it and act on the sender's account.
Blocking
- Block on the Friends page ends the friendship and stops that person from sending you requests or messages. They are not told that you blocked them; to them it looks as if you cannot be added.
- You find the people you blocked at the bottom of the Friends page, where you can unblock them. Unblocking does not make you friends again.
